Damascus is known as Trail Town: not only does the AT go down its main street but it's the terminus of the VA Creeper trail, and the "national bike trail" (Bikecentenial trail) goes through here as well. There are at least 4 bike rental outfitters here.
No snow yet this morning, but cold. I'm happy to stay another day here at Crazy Larry's and let the snow at elevation melt while I rest, read and eat.
